Northern Ruby Paste Tomato Seeds

Northern Ruby Paste

Northern Ruby Paste has a neat Montana history. Originally a Heinz tomato, Montana grower Doug Beaty spent roughly 20 years selecting and adapting this strain for earlier maturity and compact growth in northern climates. The result is a dependable, open-pollinated paste tomato with deep-red, meaty Roma-style fruits and excellent sauce-making quality and fantastic flavor.

A wonderful example of how dedicated seed savers and regional growers can take an older variety and preserve it while adapting it to their own growing conditions!

Determinate, bushy growth that is highly productive and selected for shorter growing seasons. Early maturing, cold hardy but also went gang buster and held up well in my Midwest heat.
