Côte de Saint André Tomato
Côte de Saint André is an old French tomato named for La Côte-Saint-André, a town in the Isère region of southeastern France.
The indeterminate plants produce beautiful red, flattened beefsteak-type tomatoes with noticeable ribbing, especially around the shoulders. The fruit is meaty and juicy with a rich, balanced old-fashioned tomato flavor. A great choice for slicing, sandwiches, sauces, or eating fresh from the garden.
Around 75–85 days to maturity.
I love varieties like this that still carry the name of the place they came from. Côte de Saint André is a beautiful old French variety with that classic heavily ribbed shape that really stands out.
